I, Samantha Crane, recognise that privacy is important. This Privacy Policy applies to all of this website.

Information I collect and how I use it
I do not require you to register for an account or provide any personal information to me. You are free to read my blog, my twitters and comment as you wish. I reserve the right to delete inappropriate comments or anything I consider spam.
- Cookies – I do not set any cookies when you view my website but I do use Google Analytics. Google servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website. These server logs may include information such as your web request, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser. It does not collect any sensitive personal data such as your name or home address. A “cookie” is a small file containing a string of characters that is sent to your computer when you visit a website. When you visit the website again, the cookie allows that site to recognise your browser. Cookies may store user preferences and other information. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. Every computer connected to the Internet is assigned a unique number known as an Internet protocol (IP) address. Since these numbers are usually assigned in country-based blocks, an IP address can often be used to identify the country from which a computer is connecting to the Internet.
- User communications – When you send email or other communications to me, I may retain those communications in order to process your enquiries, respond to your requests and improve my service.
- Links – I may present links in a format that enables me, or third parties, to keep track of whether these links have been followed. We use this information to improve the quality of the customised content and advertising. When you submit information to a web page (such as a user login ID or registration information), the operator of that web site may “embed” that information – including personal information – into its URL (typically, after a question mark (“?”) in the URL). When the URL is transmitted eg to Google, their servers automatically store the URL, including any personal information that has been embedded after the question mark. I do not embed personal information into URLs, so there are no such privacy issues on this site.
If I propose to use personal information for any purposes other than those described in this Privacy Policy and/or in the specific service privacy notices, I will offer you an effective way to opt out of the use of personal information for those other purposes. I will not collect or use sensitive information unless I have obtained your prior consent.
Information sharing
I would only share personal information with other outside companies or individuals in the following limited circumstances:
- I have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to (a) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request, (b) enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations thereof, (c) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues, or (d) protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of myself and my website, its users or the public as required or permitted by law.
If I become involved in a merger, acquisition, or any form of sale of some or all of my assets, I will ensure the confidentiality of any personal information involved in such transactions and provide notice before personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
I may share with third parties certain pieces of aggregated, non-personal information, such as the number of users who searched for a particular term, for example, or how many users clicked on a particular advertisement. Such information does not identify you individually.
Information security
I take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorised access to or unauthorised alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. This includes internal reviews of my data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, as well as physical security measures to guard against unauthorised access to systems where I store personal data.
I restrict access to personal information to myself.
Data integrity
I process personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected and in accordance with this Privacy Policy or any applicable service-specific privacy notice. I review our data collection, storage and processing practices to ensure that I only collect, store and process the personal information needed to provide or improve my service or as otherwise permitted under this Policy. I take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information I process is accurate, complete, and current, but I depend on my users to update or correct their personal information whenever necessary.
Enforcement
I regularly review my compliance with this Privacy Policy. Please feel free to direct any questions or concerns regarding this Privacy Policy or my treatment of personal information by emailing me.
When I receive formal written complaints at this address, it is my policy to contact the complaining user regarding his or her concerns. I will cooperate with the appropriate regulatory authorities, including local data protection authorities, to resolve any complaints regarding the transfer of personal data that cannot be resolved between myself and an individual.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
Please note that this Privacy Policy may change from time to time. I will not reduce your rights under this Privacy Policy without your explicit consent, and I expect most such changes will be minor. Regardless, I will post any Privacy Policy changes on this page and, if the changes are significant, I will provide a more prominent notice (for example email notification of Privacy Policy changes). Each version of this Privacy Policy will be identified at the top of the page by its effective date, and I will also keep prior versions of this Privacy Policy in an archive for any neceesary review.
